DXD (www.d-x-d.com), an Emmy award winning creative production studio specializing in design, live-action, animation, and vfx, is seeking creative 3d artists for the next installment of a children’s animated series titled Rainbow Valley Fire Department (www.rainbowvalleyfiredepartment.com & www.rvfdfiresafety.com).  We are seeking to fill multiple positions for Maya Character Animation, Lighting/Rendering specialist, & a concept / storyboard artist.  Located in the heart of Downtown Kansas City, MO, DXD’s new 20,000 sq/ft studio is just blocks from several art and entertainment districts.

Character Animators

Applicants should be highly motivated, creative, energetic and expert users of Autodesk Maya.  Job skills include excellent skills in character motion, lipsync, timing, and posing.  The tasks would involve working with existing models & rigs and animating scenes based on stroyboards.  The ability to work with a team, meat meet deadlines, and have fun is a must.  These are on-site contract positions starting mid June thru Sept. Lighting / Rendering Specialist

Applicants should be highly motivated creative energetic expert users of Autodesk Maya and Mental Ray for Maya. This is an on-site contract positions starting late June thru Sept. All applicants must be legally able to work in the United States. Job tasks include:
•       Developing and implementing lighting schemas and optimize rendering.
•       Ensure that shots fit in the continuity of a sequence and fulfill the vision of the Director, Art Director and VFX Supervisor.
•       Ensure that lighting setups are clean and documented and easy to understand.
•       Troubleshoot and debug problems as they arise.
•       Develop direct and indirect lighting.

Storyboard / Concept Artist

Applicants should be highly motivated, creative, energetic and expert users of Photoshop.  Not only is there the opportunity to established design, but play an integral role in creating environments and other assets for the series . This is an OFF-site contract positions starting late June thru Aug. Desired Skills:
•       Strong storyboarding and staging skills
•       Passion for making detailed art for a children’s entertainment
•       Professional or published concept work is a plus
Responsibilities:
