Announced earlier this month, Sony Pictures Animation is entering the direct to video market with a sequel to Open Season.  Although the original made approximately $190 million worldwide, Sony feels that it performed strongly enough to warrant a home video release.   The sequel will most likely focus on the original stories "Mr. Weenie", the dachshund who escapes to join the forest animals.  Sony has mentioned that at least some of the production will probably take place in India and New Mexico, two of their satellite offices.
