It seems that DreamWorks Animation is not the only company producing a CG Puss in Boots feature.  MK2, a studio in Europe is producing the film with production taking place in Belgium at Nexus Factory and Saga Productions.  The film has a $24 million budget and is titled The True Story of Puss in Boots.  Adapted from an original story by French author Charles Perrault.  The film is already in production and set for a 2009 release, while DWA version should hit theaters in 2011.  MK2 is producing or plans to produce seven films a year at budgets between $3.3 and $16.3 million.
