The first trailer of Tale of Despereaux  is now available .  This animated film is being produced by Universal's animation unit, who has partnered with London's Framestore to do the animation production.  Due out on December 19th.

On November 26th, Disney will release the CG animated film Bolt.  The first trailer is attached to Wall-E, or you can simply visit this link to see it online.  The film is being produced in Burbank at WDFA.  Bolt will be the first Disney animated feature created under John Lasseter's watch.

Phil Knight, whose Nike empire gives him an estimated worth of $7.9 billion, is bringing his muscle to showbiz, with ambitious plans for his Portland, Ore., animation studio to partner with a Hollywood major in a slate of toons.  Laika, which does both CG and stop-motion features, was created when Knight stepped in to buy the former Will Vinton Studios, famous for the California Raisins, after the company had fallen on hard times.

 
Kung Fu Panda - Sequels

DWA Kung Fu Panda is number one in the box office with an opening weekend pull of more than $60 million. 

Katzenberg is already talking sequels.  Five of them.  Whether the audiences will support that many is unknown, however, you can be sure that a follow up will be coming soon.

Columbia Pictres and Sony Pictures Animation will be joining up to produce the Smurfs live action/CG combo film.  What was once believed to be a 100% CG movie in development will now be a mix.
